Sand Shacks Dolphin Sands - House Manual

We hope you settle in quickly and feel at hoome.  This guide covers important information so you can relax and enjoy your stay.

Our water is safe to drink from the tap. 

Our beautiful remote setting is wonderful but with that comes responsibity to our sensitive environment.  Only Toilet Paper can be flushed down the toilet. This is important for our plumbing system to function smoothly.  Bags are provided in bathroom drawers for sanitary products to be used and disposed of in bins provided. 

For heating and cooling the Shack has centrally controlled Air Conditioning.  The  control for this system is on the wall near the bathroom. Please feel free to adjust to you desired temperature. 

The bathroom has floor heating you may choose to turn it on, the control is near the light switch in the bathroom. 

There is an electric fire that we have turned on to make you feel cozy, no heat will come from it unless you use the remote (black Dimplex remote on ottoman) and change from off to hi or lo. (button on the top right of remote) . You can also adjust the temperature with the remote and colours of the lights.  The full manual is available here.

Pleae place rubbish in the RED  bin behind the shack and place recycling in the YELLOW bin behing the shack near the water tanks.

Smoke alarms are installed and tested regularly 

Fire extinguisher is located on the kitchen's high shelf beside the fridge.

No open flames are permitted on the property due to our vulnerable environment.

In the case of an emergency such as fire or severe weather. Please alert all your party and us of the hazard. We can all assess the situation using Tas Alert web site (https://alert.tas.gov.au/?view=both) and local information to decide if evacuation is necessary. Evacuation should be clearly instructed to all your party calmly.  Personal items should not be taken and everyone should go immediatly to the meeting place. Assist anyone that is needing help the elderly or children or disabled people.

   • Proceed  directly to the designated safe assembly point at the Jetty.

   • Avoid  hazardous areas.

1. Assembly:
   • Gather   all occupants at the Jetty.
   • Conduct  a headcount to ensure everyone is accounted for.
   • Do   not re-enter the Sand Shacks until authorized by emergency personnel.

1. Emergency      Services:
   • Call  emergency services (fire, police, ambulance) 000 if not already done.
   • Provide clear information about the emergency and location.
